About Us

Colton Chupp, Head Coach - Varsity
Colton was a two-year letter winner at Lakewood Ranch High School. As a senior, Colton pitched 27.2 innings and went 2-2 with a 3.29 ERA. As a hitter, Colton achieved a batting average of .435 during his senior year. As a junior, Colton tossed 29.1 innings posting a 0.95 ERA. As a freshman at U of South Carolina-Upstate, Colton appeared in 9 games in relief throwing 20.0 innings with a 5.40 ERA. During his sophomore year at State College of Florida, Colton started 9 of 10 appearances on the mound throwing 50.2 innings and went 2-5 with a 4.62 ERA. Colton finished his college career at Valdosta University where he amassed 15 appearances, 3 of which came as starts, and carried a 3.41 career ERA across 29.0 innings with 26 Ks. After originally being hired as the Lakewood Ranch JV Coach, Colton was promoted to Lakewood Ranch Varsity Head Coach in 2022.

AJ Jones, Pitching Coach - Varsity

AJ was a two-year letter winner at Sarasota High School. As a junior, AJ tossed 30 innings posting a 0.93 ERA helping the Sailors finish Class 7A State Champion Runner-Up. As a senior, AJ pitched 10 innings and went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA before his season was cut short due to injury. As a freshman at FAU, AJ threw 10.2 innings with a 2.53 ERA and as a sophomore at State College of Florida, he started 11 of 14 appearances on the mound throwing 72.2 innings and went 6-0 with a 3.22 ERA. AJ played two years at Jacksonville U  throwing 109.2 innings and earning a 3.78 ERA. AJ also earned ASUN Pitcher of the Week twice as a junior. AJ finished his college career with UCF making 12 starts in 14 appearances throwing 50.1 innings. AJ earned AAC Pitcher of the Week honors when he struck out a season-high 10 batters in 6 innings against #1 nationally ranked Ole Miss to secure the series victory. AJ currently plays for the Milwaukee Milkmen in the American Association.


Ed Manekin, Head Coach - JV

Ed coached high levels of travel baseball for 12 years including two years in the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League. Ed also served as Commissioner of the HCYP Raiders baseball organization in Maryland for 15 years. HCYP Raiders is the premier travel baseball program of Central Maryland offering travel programs for ages 8U through 19U. These teams compete in any number of local travel baseball leagues and in nationwide travel tournaments. Ed also worked with the Baseball Factory for two years at their Pirate City events. Ed became Lakewood Ranch JV Head Coach in 2022.
